This is Marci Saballa Montoya.  She carries many titles: daughter, mother, sister, friend, and colleague to name a few.  She has always been a hard worker and made every effort to ensure she could provide for her family, but now she needs our help.  In August 2015, Marci was diagnosed with breast cancer.  While she continues to fight the battles that only she can, we ask for your help to lift the burden where she doesn’t need to fight alone.

Marci has already undergone several chemotherapy treatments to  shrink the cancer mass.  In spring of 2016, she will receive extensive surgeries to remove the remaining cancer cells.  Since her diagnosis, Marci has learned she carries the BRCA2 genetic mutation.  The presence of this mutation means she will need to have a bilateral mastectomy (removal of both breasts) to remove all at risk tissue.  Marci’s breast cancer also proved to be HER2 positive (overproduction of a protein) which causes the cancer to grow aggressively.  This translates to an additional year of chemotherapy following her surgeries.

For those of you who have had a loved one go through chemotherapy, you understand how difficult it is to cope with day-to-day life.  As much as she would love to, Marci is unable to continue working.  Her medical bills are becoming unmanageable and are projected to grow if she is to continue on a treatment plan to beat cancer.   

We are requesting donations to help defray the cost of the medical bills that are associated with her treatment of this aggressive cancer.  Your support will relieve some of the stress from her life so she can focus on getting healthy.  We understand if you are unable to make a donation, but we ask that you keep her in your prayers and continue to show your support.
