Janet Kerrigan is my mother. She's also a daughter, a wife, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, and most recenty a grandmother...we prefer Nana. Unfortunately, she's also a cancer patient.
Janet was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma back in the Fall of 2011. This was a devastating blow to Janet, our family and anyone who knows her. She underwent several rounds of chemo, followed by a bone marrow transplant summer of 2012. Even through all the treatments and extensive transplant that litterally shut down her immune system, Janet stayed more positive than ever. By the Spring 2013, my mom was in Remission. This was the Best. News. Ever.
Almost 4 years later, Janet's Myeloma came back. This past December, right before the Holidays, Janet found out her Myeloma returned. She is back undergoing rounds of chemo & continuing to fight each day.
Although she has cancer, and that will never ever completely go away, she continues to stay positive. Every Christmas Janet and her husband Joe give back to their community by transporting the homeless to churches so they can have a nice hot meal. Janet is always the first to help a friend or a family member and would give you the shirt off her back if you asked. And there's nothing she won't do for family, especially her new grandson. Janet's genorisity is unmeasurable.
Let's help Janet with the thousands of dollars in medical bills she recieves on a weekly basis. Let's give back to the one who's always giving to others. Let's work together to spread awareness of Multiple Myeloma and help find a cure for this awful disease. While we do this, let's help out my mom and donate to this amazing, wonderful, most-loving and generous woman I am so proud and lucky to call Mom.
