Jacob's Fight with Duchenne
Donation protected
It's been well over a year since our beautiful son Jacob was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. A deadly disease that in time may strip him of his most basic freedoms - the freedom to walk, talk, hug and even breathe. Jacob remains an active little boy but he fights every day to stay a playful boy. Simple things such as climbing into the school bus or on his swing set are challenging but he's not giving up and just pushes forward. Jacob has been involved in a study through Catabasis Pharmaceutical and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for a drug called Edasalonexent. This drug continues to slow positive signs of inhibiting specific chemicals while reducing inflammation and in some cases regeneration of muscle but hee does fatigue easily which is why we're looking for help again. We're trying to purchase a mobility scooter that he can have fun with while keeping his muscles free from getting tried at home or in school. The picture above was taken at MDA camp this summer where he has no limits and feels like he can do anything. The smile you see above is his personality and energy he gives off 100% of the time. The funds raised will all now be used for his new scooter. Your previous help raised enough funds for a stair lift that has been an enormous help. Please help once again as a new mobility scooter would allow Jacob to remain as functional as possible and to keep him smiling and living each day to the fullest. Our goal continues to to empower Jacob with support to live longer and grow stronger. Please help Jacob win this battle.
