Asa Omlid Medical Care Assistance

On March 14th 2013 my brother Asa Omlid was in a bad accident with a semi on his way to work. He broke his right hip, knee and ankle requiring multiple surgeries. Later a blood clot was found in his lung and he was given blood thinners. The blood thinners caused a massive bleed in Asa's head and he had to be rushed into emergency brain surgery on March 17th. They stopped the bleed but because of swelling he was left with a section of his skull missing and he was unable to move his left arm or leg. He was in ICU at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, MN until March 31st before he was finally transferred to a regular room. On April 5th he was transferred to Kindred in Mandan, ND to begin rehab therapy. Asa is undergoing Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapy. On April 29th he was sent back to St. Mary's. They replaced his skull flap and put in a permanent shunt on April 30th. My brother has made a lot of improvement since the accident but still has a long road ahead of him. At the time of the accident he was not covered by insurance. Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Asa has been making slow progress in his recovery and it has been a battle to maintain insurance since the accident. Asa recently lost insurance again and as a result was unable to pay for the nursing home he has been in for his recovery. He is being sent home due to non payment and we are quickly running out of time to get the house ready for his return. We are having issues getting the medical equipment we need for his return covered by insurance. As a result we have to come up with the fees for rental or purchasing the needed equipment on our own. Please assist us in getting Asa home.
