On January 14,2020, Andy Maxam, age 22 from Clinton, NY, sustained life threatening injuries in a horrific motorcycle accident on Route 12 in New Hartford, NY.
He was immediately transported to Upstate Medical by Mercy Flight Helicopter and has been in the Neuro ICU since the accident.
Andy sustained multiple injuries including broken bones and head trauma. He has had multiple surgeries, has been on a ventilator and had a drain placed in his brain to remove fluid/blood. The drain was removed two weeks ago and Andy is being weaned off the ventilator. While he is making progress, Andy remains unresponsive at this time and needs all of our prayers.
Andy’s parents Doug & Patti, lifelong members of the Clinton community, have been rotating shifts in order to be by Andy’s side 24/7 and his brother Tommy travels back and forth each day along with extended family members to deliver food and provide support to the family.
Andy is a 2016 graduate from Clinton Central School where he played on the hockey team. In December 2016, Andy graduated from The Southeast Lineman Training Center. At the time of his accident, Andy worked for both The Village of Clinton and Jury Lawn Care. Andy is known by friends and family as a honest, loyal and hard working young man and remains at the forefront of our hearts and minds.
Please consider donating to help the Maxam family with travel costs as well as mounting medical expenses. All donations will be deeply appreciated by the family who need one less thing to worry about during this very difficult time. Doug and Patti would like to thank their family and the community for the prayers, support and meals provided thus far and thank you in advance for your generosity.
