Team Alexis Needs Your Help

Alexis is in need of your help. She was diagnosed with a tumor that was crushing her spinal cord, she is 20 years old with no medical insurance. She is smart, outgoing, kind-hearted and an active young adult. She loves being outdoors, playing her guitar and working at her small town bagel shop. Her parents, Andrea and Matthew Fawkes are handling this the best they can, but can only handle a small portion of her medical expenses. Alexis has sustained permanent spinal cord damage in her hands, balance, eye-hand coordination and her stomach. She is a miracle child with an angel watching over her, the doctors say she should of been a quadriplegic. Her story is incredible and has a long road ahead of her. A rare tumor encompassing her spinal cord in her neck was nothing we were ever prepared for, but are blessed she’s still here with us. Her surgery was yesterday, July 10th, 2015 and lasted several hours. They were able to remove the tumor, it was about 2" round, but her spinal cord was comprised. She’ll be in ICU at Good Samaritan in Lafayette, CO for a while. Her biggest hurdle is trying to keep her blood pressure up to maintain blood flow to the spinal cord, when her blood pressure drops she loses feeling on the right side of her body. Then onto a long recovery with rehabilitaion and ongoing treatments. Rehabilitation afterwards will be vital, the goal will be to return as much function as possible. Without your help, her life as she knows it will never be the same. She's young, with a long healthy life ahead of her. Please help Alexis succeed by donating to her impending medical needs.
