Abby Strong beating cancer
Donation protected
Abby Cockrell was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia October 7th, 2015. She is a good spirited, resilient little fighter. She has faced three hospital stays, surgery to place her port, weekly lumber punctures under general anesthesia where she receives chemotherapy to the CNS fluid and brain, as well as IV chemo in the clinic and oral chemo and steroid regimes at home. These treatments are very intensive currently but will slow down after a while, but it is a long road and her last IV chemotherapy treatment is tentatively scheduled for December 18, 2017.

Due to her up and down blood counts and compromised immune system she is out of school and is participating in a home based program through her school district. Her teacher comes to our house twice a week and Abby has done a wonderful job staying current with her school work these last couple of months.

Her diagnosis has been a big adjustment for the family including mom Laura resigning from her position in mental health at Easter Seals Blake Foundation just before Thanksgiving. There has also been an increase in medical expenses due to our high insurance deductible and co-payments for Abby's many medical procedures she will continue to need in her ongoing Leukemia treatment.

We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from so many and we are grateful for the amazing family, friends, and community support we have received. Please consider donating money to help us continue to provide high quality care to our sweet girl Abby Cockrell as she continues to kick cancer to the curb.
Sincerely,
Will and Laura Cockrell
