Mason Allen has been training since he was a little samurai and has dedicated his life to martial arts. He began his martial arts journey with Kovar's in 2000, just after moving from San Diego, when he entered the second grade at the Granite Bay Academy. At just 16 years old, Mason officially joined the team as an instructor on October 22, 2009.

Over the years, he’s taught and inspired at multiple academies, including Granite Bay, Cameron Park, Carmichael, Roseville, Waterman, and Natomas. From demo teams to leadership roles, Mason has influenced generations of students, always showing up with heart, strength, and humility.

Now, at the young age of 32, Mason is facing a progressive and debilitating neurological condition that has taken him off the mats and left him unable to work. He is currently undergoing testing and still waiting on a formal diagnosis, adding uncertainty and emotional strain to an already challenging time. We want to rally behind Mason, his wife, and their three young children—and stand behind him as his Kovar’s Martial Arts Family—as they navigate this incredibly difficult chapter together.
