Med Expenses for Tara Harvey

Tara Harvey is a 30 year old NICU nurse in Tulsa, OK. She is married to her husband, Jon, and has a spoiled little Schnauzer named Bella. When Tara was 10 years old, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer called paraganglioma. Since then, Tara has traveled from Oklahoma to MD Anderson in Houston, TX and had 6 surgeries to remove dangerous tumors from various parts of her body. Tara had been in remission for 4 years, but recently found out that the tumors are back and presenting in different forms. These tumors are inoperable. A plan of treatment is in the works and she will be traveling back and forth to MD Anderson quite a bit in the months to come. To begin, she will be having 2 weeks of daily radiation. After the bout of radiation, she will have surgery on her femur, which will require up to 6 days of recovery in the hospital. During this time, Tara and her husband will be responsible for lodging, meals, and transportation. The frequent trips to and from Houston have been grueling on Tara and Jon. They have both taken off many days of work and will continue to have to take off work during her treatment. Tara is just beginning her journey through this round of tumors and has many trips ahead of her. Let’s join together and help this beautiful lady get through her battle with as much support as possible.
