PUPDATE AT BOTTOM
Tank has been a beloved member of our family for four years. He’s a sweet, smart, and loving dog who brings so much joy to our home. Recently, while playing in the backyard, Tank injured his leg and has struggled to put any weight on it since. It’s heartbreaking to see him unable to enjoy his favorite activities or move around comfortably.
After a thorough examination, our vet recommended a TPLO surgery, which involves placing a plate and screws to repair the damaged ligament in his leg. The procedure is urgent—our vet wanted to schedule it for June 3rd—but we simply don’t have the funds available right now. Without this surgery, Tank’s mobility and quality of life will continue to decline, and he’ll remain in pain.
Tank means the world to us. He’s not just a pet; he’s my support on tough days and my husband’s best friend. This surgery will give him the chance to walk and play again, and with the changes we’re making at home, we’re committed to ensuring his recovery goes smoothly. Any help to get Tank the care he needs would mean everything to our family.
Anyone wanting to see the cost breakdown for proof of need please, let me know. I will happily share the estimate we were given.
PUPDATE: We took your donations, our savings, a carecredit, and sold some art but we got his surgery! Today was his checkup on how his TPLO healed. It was a great news/not so great news moment. On one hand his blown left knee healed beautifully, exactly as the vet wanted. Unfortunately the strain of carrying him while the other healed blew his right knee. Sooo...new TPLO needed. While we hate asking, one surgery was a lot, two is beyond overwhelming. Anyone who can help point us to external resources would be much appreciated as well.
