Hi Everyone,
My name is Thalia King, founder of Tally’s Heart and The Thalia E. King Foundation. I survived Hurricane Melissa firsthand — physically in the heart of the storm in Western Jamaica.
I witnessed families lose everything within minutes: roofs torn off, homes flooded, treasured belongings washed away, and entire communities left in ruins. The devastation across Trelawny, Hanover, Westmoreland, and Manchester is something I will never forget.
Through trauma came purpose.
This mission is personal — this is home.
That’s why I created Tally’s Heart, an initiative under The Thalia E. King Foundation, dedicated to supporting families in the overlooked rural communities that still haven’t received help.
⸻
⭐ Who I’m Raising Funds For
I am supporting families across rural Western Jamaica — beloved elders, children, neighbors, farmers, teachers, small business owners, long-standing community members, and many others throughout the region who are in genuine and urgent need.
Some are people I have known my whole life; others are families I met while walking through devastated districts after the storm.
Each one deserves safety, dignity, and hope.

⸻
⭐ How Funds Will Be Used
Every contribution will go directly toward:
• Critical emergency supplies (food, water, fuel, hygiene items)
• Roof and building materials (zinc, lumber, tarps, nails, tools)
• Community clean-up and home repairs
• Replacing essentials (mattresses, bedding, cookware, clothing)
• Supporting families who lost homes or livelihoods
• Transporting and delivering supplies into remote rural areas
Nothing is wasted — everything supports families in real need.
⸻
⭐ How Funds Will Reach People
I maintain an active presence between New York and Jamaica, allowing me to personally distribute aid whenever I’m on the island.
When I am away, I work closely with my established, trusted on-ground team — people also rooted in these same communities — to ensure that support is delivered consistently, responsibly, and transparently.
⸻
⭐ Why This Matters
The people I met — including a young man my age who spent years building his home with his own hands, only to watch it vanish in a moment — moved me to act without hesitation.
The heartbreak I witnessed became the reason I couldn’t just stand by and wait for someone else to step in.
People are still suffering.
Many are unseen and overlooked.
And many still have nowhere else to turn.
Tally’s Heart was created exactly for these families.
