(a lot of this is a draft and wording is likely subject to change !!)
My name is Teasy. I am a disabled nonbinary digital artist currently struggling to maintain stable housing within the Pasadena area, leaving me at risk of immediate homelessness. I have suffered physical and mental disabilities my entire life, rapidly swerving in and out of doctors' offices since early childhood, getting diagnosis after diagnosis (PANDAS, ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, many others), yet never being able to receive benefits or assistance relating to them.
My friends and I have done everything in our power to try staying afloat (I've loaned, applied for SSI, contacted Job Corps, forced myself to work regardless of disability, opened commissions, etc.); however, nothing so far has worked out and I'm running out of time. Government/state assistance has repeatedly proven unreliable and almost entirely unreachable. This amount of instability is not only dangerous for me, but also for my dog Beverly, I do not wish for her to live a life of constant stress. She is the sweetest, most well behaved dog I have ever had in my life, and I would much rather live knowing she was allowed to be a dog than to be trapped in this unforgiving loop of uncertainty. This combination of circumstance leaves no other options for me but to consider asking for all the help I can receive so I can get Beverly to a safe, stable environment and flee the states to begin building my life all over again with my wonderful girlfriend in the UK.
I'm hoping to use any funds I receive to cover the cost of transportation for re-homing Beverly ($350~), the move itself (around $400-$650 for flights around this time of year), the visa application (around $1,775), and the healthcare surcharge ($2,780). Having the opportunity to start anew via aligning my soul with my girlfriend's would allow me to repossess the life I lost trying to keep my head above the water.

This is a statement from Teasy's roommate, and long time friend.
In October 2025, Teasy's mother suddenly cut them off financially, and stopped paying all utilities with no explanation. This was after she had deliberately tricked them into coming to Oklahoma under the false pretense of "helping her move," then stranding them in a rural area with no connections or contact with the outside world. Knowing that Teasy would likely lose access to all electricity, food, and water, I offered to help them move to Pasadena, CA, and got them onto a lease with a third party, under the deal that they get a job and pay the rent.
Teasy is one of the most resillient and hardworking people I know. They got a job almost immediately upon moving, and were willing to wake up early in the morning, and work to midnight to try and pay for their room. During their entire stay here, they've been helping out with chores and even cooking for me during my finals. I am extremely thankful for them. However, in mid December, they suddenly had a series of health issues, from a seizure that required an ER visit due to them bleeding from the ears after, to sudden autoimmune flare ups that rendered them completely unable to work for a few days. Despite contacting and notifying their work, they were suddenly let go without any communication despite having a near perfect record beforehand. This job paid minimum wage and was barely enough to keep them above water, and since they've been let go, they have been working endlessly on commissions while trying to find a job. The job market here is hellish, I know that even graduates and professionals are struggling here, and they've applied to every place they can with no response. They were able to make this month's rent, but it has left them with nothing in their bank account.
We have looked into nearly every public assistance program in both the US and California, and not only will they be unable to help in time, neither would give nearly enough to cover the cost of living in Pasadena. Disability/SSI's waiting time is 6-8 months, and California's cash assistance/GR is 2 Months. Both require medical documentation that is expensive and adds more waiting time, and despite all that, there's a high chance of denial, which would force us into a potentially years-long legal battle just for a chance to appeal. Additionally, SSI, even in its maximum payout is not enough to cover rent. CA's GR only gives a fraction of that amount. Pasadena is one of the most expensive places to live in the US. I am a full-time student and do not have the money to cover their rent on top of mine.
Going back to Oklahoma is no longer an option for them either. Since their mother has cut them off, they have lost all contact with her. We do not know her whereabouts, and have last heard from her over a month ago. Their father is dead, any living relatives are not in contact with them. Even if they regain contact, living with their mother would put them in danger. Last we heard, their mother lives and is in a relationship with a violent, registered sex offender in a trailer park in the middle of nowhere, in a hoarder house full of animals. Their mother has been battling with schizophrenia and persecutory delusions for a long time and is not capable of reason, and has hurt others due to her issues. Returning to Oklahoma isn't on the table.
