The Summit Project presents: A Hero's Hundred

Donation protected
The Summit Project (TSP)–a nationally recognized, Maine-based, nonprofit service organization–is a living memorial that has changed the way an entire state pays tribute to their post-9/11 fallen service members while also inspiring service, strengthening communities and changing lives. Unlike any project in America, TSP allows Maine communities to honor our fallen heroes through action by carrying tribute stones in their honor which have been unearthed and donated to us by their surviving family members.

10 years ago, leaders of The Summit Project made a promise to all Gold Star family members in the state of Maine that the lives and legacies of their fallen loved ones would never be forgotten. As we reach the 10th Anniversary of driving this ever-important TSP mission, that promise is reaffirmed to forever hold true.

To celebrate 10 years of honoring Maine’s fallen heroes, a team of 10 dedicated individuals will hike 10 miles each day for 10 days on the hardest 100 miles of the Appalachian Trail during the HERO’S HUNDRED.

Each person’s journey will be documented by video as they weather the harshest elements, conquer the most difficult terrain, and power through the fatigue and physical demands of this expedition until they reach the summit of Katahdin–home of Maine’s highest and most unforgiving peak.

In addition to celebrating this very special moment in TSP history, we will be creating a short docu-film using the footage acquired during this event to help further educate members of this community about the important work performed by The Summit Project organization.

Our Hero's Hundred hiker team is committed to launching upon this extremely daunting trek, though in order to complete this journey, we understand that it is not without overhead cost. As such, each team member has committed to raising $1,000 in support of our overarching $10,000 goal. When making a donation, please select the hiker you are donating on behalf of in the optional "donation detail" field.

All funds will be disbursed directly to the TSP organization in support of this year's 10th anniversary signature event–A HERO'S HUNDRED.
