TREES FOR LIFE, TREES FOR COLD SPRING

Help us purchase and plant trees for our wonderful village this fall!
For the past several years, The Village of Cold Spring has only had enough public funding in their tight budget to buy and plant one or two trees. Money for any additional trees comes entirely from private donations by citizens like us.
Trees create the oxygen we breathe: we cannot live without them. Trees also play an outsized role in making life more comfortable: they absorb warming CO2 emissions, naturally filter air pollution from traffic fumes, buffer flooding, support pollinators and birds, and help keep our towns cool during heat-waves. Trees can cool a city by up to 10ºF on summer days .
Around the world our forests are being destroyed at unprecedented rates by drought, insects and fire. We can help here at home.
In solidarity with the global climate strike on September 20th, we’re hoping to raise enough money from the community for lots of trees to be purchased and planted this fall in the Village of Cold Spring.
We are working with the Tree Advisory Board to organise volunteer plantings for the trees we are able to purchase as a result of this fundraiser in November. For planting this fall, donations need to be received before October 1st, 2019.
Please consider taking climate action by donating to this fund. Every single cent of the money received will go towards buying trees for Cold Spring.
