Alvin's Racing Wheelchair

Alvin is a fellow teammate and accomplished athlete, who has ran marathons on 6 of the 7 continents. In April of 2014, Alvin had the misfortune of falling 3 stories off a roof and became paralysed from the waist down. He has worked tirelessly to rehabilitate himself.

Alvin is determined to accomplish his goal of racing in the only continent he has yet to visit, South America. His dream race is the Volcano Marathon in Chile. To help him prepare for Chile, Alvin decided to join Team NutriBullet to train and race the 2016 LA Marathon.

Alvin's current wheelchair is not ideal for marathon training or racing as it is very heavy, and he has a hard time getting it up to speed. It's also very difficult for Alvin to control on the down hills.  So the team started this page to help raise money for Alvin's hand-cycle and continuing physical therapy.
