Our FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team, 5356 Team TARDIS, needs your help to get to the FIRST World Festival in Houston, Texas!
We advanced from the upstate New York Excelsior Regional Championship as the Inspire Award winner — recognizing us as the most well-rounded and superior team in robot design, innovation, programming, and performance, as well as for STEM outreach to professionals and youth in our community. We are proud of our accomplishments, and grateful to everyone who has supported us this season! In particular, we're thankful for our primary sponsor, Corning Incorporated, who's been with us every step of the way since our team's founding in 2011.
This is the first time we've advanced to the World Festival as Inspire winners, and our 14 team members' families need additional support to make this trip a reality. Specifically, we're asking friends, family and community members near and far to help us defray our travel and team expenses.
In addition to flights for 14 team members and 16 parents and coaches/mentors, your financial support will help us purchase two additional team uniform shirts, team lunches and dinners, and other resources we need for our experience at the festival.
We don't like having to ask for money. We're turning to the community because we believe in the power of community — that's why we've contributed more than 900 team hours of STEM outreach and community service in the past year, reaching more than 1,660 students to teach them about FIRST and the power & potential of STEM and robotics to impact the world and their lives in a positive way!
We appreciate anything you're able to contribute, and we look forward to experiencing the FIRST World Festival with more than 50,000 other team members, coaches and robot fans in Texas just a few weeks from now! Thank you for being a part of our journey!
5-3! 5-6!!!
