I NEED YOUR HELP TO CONTINUE MY UNDERGRADUATE PURSUIT OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING DEGREE AT MY DREAM SCHOOL.
Hello, my name is Kayin (Kah-yeen) Bankole’ (Bahn-co-Lay). Earlier this summer I graduated from a Blue Ribbon, Inner city magnet school named George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science. I am proud to say that my class help make George Washing Carver the number 1 rated high school in the city of Philadelphia.
From a very early age I was told by my parents that my personal assignment was to “Bring GOOD into the WORLD and to have fun doing it”.
I have pursued this directive all my life. I’ve been involved in volunteer and extra-curricular activities for as long as I can remember. During my time at Carver I received numerous awards, among which was the “2014-2015 Principal’s Leadership Award “.
In late December I applied to Syracuse University where I was eventually accepted into their Environmental Engineering Program.
I choose Syracuse because it’s a perfect fit for me. It has a great academic program in which I can finish my preparation to get a career that will allow me to “Bring GOOD into the WORLD”. I am confident that during this period of personal growth I can have fun while doing just that.
On July 5th I began attending Syracuse’s Summer Program on campus. This program ends Aug 14th. During this 6 weeks program I will earn 8 credit hours. The problem is that after scholarships, loans and out of pocket cash, a $11,500 road block still stands in the way of me paying my tuition for the year I won't be able to start classes unless i have half of that in hand. of that is due . coming back to Syracuse on August 27th to start fall classes.
Please help me to overcome this $11,500 obstacle with whatever you can afford. Invest in my future because I exemplify those characteristics that society says a good student ought to have.
Whatever you can invest (big or small) I want you to know that it will be greatly appreciated. Also, I want you to know that I will pass my blessings forward.
Thank you.
