This is my wife Sylvia. We have been married for 10 amazing years. We have 2 beautiful kids, one who is my amazing bonus son, Josiah (12) and our beautiful daughter, Jenaya (9). She loves them with everything that she has. Sylvia is optimistic, funny, talented in so many ways, smart, beautiful and the strongest person I know. Anyone who knows her knows she was always singing , cracking jokes, and cooking! She was diagnosed with AML Leukemia in 2014 and has relapsed 4 times. Each time becomes harder and harder to recover. Although this last time almost took her life, she has fought so hard to stay positive and keep pushing through to get back home to our children.
Unfortunately, to her most recent chemotherapy regime, she suffered severe organ damage from the toxic side effects. As a result, she had circulation issues, and will need both of her feet amputated. We are hopeful she can be fitted for prosthetic limbs to help her learn how to walk again. The greater hurdle is getting her in remission again. Yet, each day she becomes weaker and weaker.
I am calling out for help to anyone who is willing. I don’t want her to be alone in the hospital during these very critical days. I’ve taken unpaid FMLA whenever possible to be by her hospital bedside. My biggest goal right now is to spend as much time with her as possible, but we still need to pay our monthly bills along with outstanding medical bills. The prosthetics are costly, but would help give her a better quality of life.
Anyone that knows Sylvia knows that she will fight until the very end. She would go to the ends of the earth for her kids and will continue to stay positive and grateful for every day she gets with our family. Your kind donation could make a world of difference for us no matter how small. I would greatly appreciate it if you could share this page. We welcome all prayers as well for our family to help navigate through this difficult time.
With love,
The Castro Family
