Send Sydney to Super Stardom!

Hi, I'm Sydney!

I'm 14 and I'm really grateful to see some people out there contributing to my campaign. Thank you, it means everything to me. Babysitting only goes so far...to raise the money I need to kickstart my acting career.

iPopLA! is coming up super soon now, and I've got a lot of work to do to prepare. I'm developing some new characters and working on my competition monologue because I'm one of 600 kids from all over the world chosen to perform in Hollywood this July in front of all the major studio casting directors at iPop! where many Disney stars and Hollywood actors got their start.

My Dream ...

Ever since I was a little girl I loved the thrill of performing - whether as a ballet dancer in the Washington Ballet's Nutcracker or in my school plays as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz or Ophelia in Hamlet.

I love to bring characters to life … so others can learn to empathize with people different from ourselves. This year I came out as bisexual, and my friends, parents and school have all been really supportive. Wouldn't it be cool if I could play the first bisexual teen in a Disney show?

People have told me it is risky to tell the world this, especially as I'm just 14. But I want to be brave and help inspire others like me by being a good role model.

On New Year's Day I decided in my mind I would get great auditions and roles. I was with my mom at an entrepreneur's event called Maverick Family Freedom. All the entrepreneurs there were setting their "intentions" for the year while taking this funny purple pill created by a cool guy called Robbe Richman called the X-Pill. Don't worry, it's just rice inside it. But it does something to the chemistry of your mind. I wasn't convinced but why not? So I took it, imagining myself succeed as an actress.

Only a few weeks later I saw an ad for an audition in my Instagram - and I asked my mom if I could try out. There were thousands of other kids.

I was so nervous!  But I did my monologue and handed them my picture. I thought I'd bombed!

But then the first of many callbacks happened... and more auditions ... and now I have my first agent in New York... and in Los Angeles this July I'll be performing monologues, acting in improv and more ... I'm thrilled!

But I need your help!

It costs a lot of money to go to iPop! and to get all my pictures and acting lessons, more than my parents can afford. So far my mom and her boyfriend have contributed some of the cost, but both my parents told me I could only go if I could create a budget and raise most of the money.

I've been babysitting all year, and putting everything I earn to this.

But here's what I need to find funds for:

* Printing my headshots and "comp card" (Thanks everyone for the donations so far that went towards my first professional photo session!) I need 100 of each, and it will cost $1,200, plus my mom lent me $1,500 towards my photo session.

* My iPop! Participation Fee (I need another $5,500 by June 1 to be able to go) While I'm there, I'll be competing in monologue, TV commercial, improvisation and modeling competitions for a whole week.

* Acting Lessons I have a great opportunity to get coached by actor Daniel Samona. He was "Tommy" in Entourage, "Doug" in iCarly, and "Dean" in Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place.  I need $195 for five 30-minute sessions before I go to iPop. (By the way, it was
amazing to do improv in my hometown D.C. with Dan Benson who was "Zeke" in Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place.)

* Travel I need to find funds for my economy ticket to Los Angeles and my hotel room in the hotel where iPop is taking place. (My mom will pay for all the rest!)

* Wardrobe I have found some inexpensive places to shop for all the clothes and shoes I need, but it is still going to cost around $500 I think.

* Demo Reel and Website I'm way behind on this, and I need to record some monologues and characters and post them on YouTube. I think I can do that by getting a friend to point their iPhone at me, but I think my agent might want something a little more professional. I'm trying to find a videographer to sponsor me, but I will definitely need help getting my website together! Maybe someone can donate their services to me instead of money?

Here's how you can help me!

If you sponsor me for $100 or more - before June 1 - you get your name in the iPopConvention guide and website. It may also be tax deductible if its a business donation.

Your donation will make it possible for me to:

** Stay in Los Angeles in July so I act on the stage at iPop! and meet with studio casting directors! Maybe I'll land a part!!!

** Travel to NYC and LA for my first TV commercial and acting auditions!

** Get all photographs I need... plus a "comp card"... and acting demo reels... ((and all the styling, hair and wardrobe I need for them... ))!

** And my acting and singing lessons!!!

If you haven't already, please help me out.

The deadline for iPop! is only 20 days away!
The deadline for being included as an iPop sponsor is June 1, and I have to get all my photos and reels together before then.

Thank You SOOOOOOO Much!

It means everything to me that you would help me make my dreams come true ...

...because I want to bring characters to life that will help improve our world ... helping others to understand each other.

So thank you!
