"Please join Mike and I in raising funds to support opioid treatment awareness in our community. As first responders, we have both seen firsthand how this devastating disease has affected our country. Tearing families apart and stealing the lives of our youth. On September 1, 2018, we will take part in an endurance swim to raise money for this cause. We hope the money raised will help fund two incredible programs aimed towards treating opoid addiction as well as preventing it both on a local and national level. "

Project Re-Connect - A Fall River based program
"Project Reconnect seeks to engage citizens, community organizations, and local government to collaboratively provide outreach and support to those most directly impacted by the opioid epidemic; overdose survivors and their families."

The Herren Project
"The Herren Project (THP) was founded in 2011 by former professional basketball player, Chris Herren, with the goal of helping others navigate the road to recovery from Substance Use Disorder (SUD). THP has since helped thousands of individuals and their families with recovery navigation and support services as well brought awareness to the disease of addiction and initiatives focused on substance use prevention education."

A minimum donation of $25 is requested but any amount, no matter how small, can make a world of difference
