Friends and Folks,

I am Sweet Corey-Bey a Black Trans artist and cultural organizer born and based in Gorgeous Prince George's County, MD.

I create important cultural experiences that center fully embodied expression through full service music direction and my practice as a bassist, composer, bandleader, vocalist, producer, film maker, graphic designer, playlist curator and more. My desire in establishing an artist residency for myself is to expand the capacity of my own work to create worlds that uplift Black Queer becoming and thriving with implications for collective liberation.

I'm seeking financial support to center my curiosity and discovery in my practice from a position of resource. I am also seeking support to recover from an accident involving my parked car outside of my home in which my vehicle sustained major damage as well as equipment that I use to support my musical practice and work in community.

The resources from this fundraiser will allow me to:

Create more art
Update and purchase new equipment for my practice
Navigate damage and cost associated with an accident on 09/27
Hire collaborators to workshop and record my originals for my own album
Book studio time
Maintain and update my website/hosting

Damage sustained by my vehicle.

My car was located over 10ft from where I was parked during the accident. 3 other cars were totaled, 2 of which were also parked on the street outside my house.
