Hello Friends!
As most of you know, Suzanne was diagnosed with oral cancer in May 2015. The surgery to remove the tumor took about half of her tongue. She ended up in a coma for over a month, had to learn how to walk and eat again, and went through massive radiation and chemo.
The great news is that she is now cancer free, but a mess from all the radiation, chemotherapy, and surgeries.
We've paid for her medical expenses so far, but we have a new medical hurdle and we really need your help.
Suzanne will lose ALL of her teeth due to the damage the radiation and chemotherapy did to her jaw and teeth. And the cost of the surgery and replacement teeth is NOT covered by insurance and will run to be over $50,000.
In addition, Suzanne has at least 2 more surgeries to complete restoration on her tongue and mouth which will help her to speak and swallow easier and reduce the potential for complications later.
I have trouble asking for help when I need it, but friends have encouraged me to start this page and ask for your help since we just can’t do this alone.
So please sign up!
We are trying to raise $40,000 to:
Pay for Suzanne’s dental surgeries and oral cavity/tongue surgeries
Pay for Suzanne’s replacement teeth
This is the site on Suzanne's arm where they took tissue, a nerve and an artery to make her new tongue. Suzanne calls it her "arm tongue."

This is Suzanne's new tongue. The white bit and the floor of her mouth were made from the tissue on her arm. Amazingly, she has feeling in her tongue, due to the nerve that was taken from her arm and put in her new 'arm tongue.'

Healing scars.
