The support, love, and help friends and family have provided have made my Moms Battle with cancer bearable--- we are so grateful!
She is a warrior--after proton therapy radiation left cancer remaining, she underwent a major head and neck dissection surgery this summer, followed by chemotherapy treatments, she continues to breathe through a trach tube and receive nutrition from a feeding tube.
Radiation left damage to her jaw and mouth tissues-- and next month she is facing oral surgery to remove teeth that have died and become infected. She must receive 30 hyperbaric oxygen treatments to support removal of the teeth and healing. Once she heals therapists will work with her to eat and breathe independently again.
She is strong, hopeful, and in positive spirits, but of course her medical insurance deductible has increased to $6600 out of pocket in 2015. This fundraiser will help offset her growing medical bills, go towards this deductible and allow my Mom and Mike to focus on healing, and enjoying one another and life (not worrying about where the money will come from to cover treatment).
