Surgical fees, Kodi's fracture

Most of you, my friends and family, know my dog Kodi. He is my service dog and closest companion. On Wednesday, Dec 23rd Kodi had an accident coming down our apartment building stairs. We live in a second floor apartment, and there are 17 cement steps leading up to it. I'd just come home from an appointment that he could not go to with me. He was very anxious to get to me and came flying down the stairs and stumbled and fell on his 'wrists' down the last three stairs, across the sidewalk, and into the grass.. We knew it was a really bad fall because he was yelping in pain and fear.

My husband and daughter quickly loaded him into the car, and we took him to a local vet where he was x-rayed and found to have a comminuted fracture with at least 3-4 fragments which must be surgically repaired with pins and/or a plate. The surgery estimate came out to $2000 and, unfortunately, we haven't been able to find any vets who will take payments. I have searched and searched for help online from groups who help people with vet bills; however, these funds seem to be for spay/neuter, cancer surgeries or life-threatening injuries only. Kodi will not die without this surgery, but he will be crippled for the rest of his life.

We have been able to come up with the first $500 through Care Credit; however, our attempts to find a loan or any other funding have failed. For Kodi's sake, we are asking for any help you can give him. He's a very special boy, a rescue whom we saved from euthansia. If you can help in any way, Kodi and I and my family will be eternally grateful.
