Hi, my name is Sage, and I’m raising $13,000 to cover the cost of gender-affirming top surgery — something I’ve needed for most of my life, but especially over the past 15 years. This surgery is essential to my health, my well-being, and my ability to live fully as myself.
Right now, I’m overwhelmed. In addition to preparing for surgery, I’ve been hit with a wave of unexpected and urgent financial stress: a car accident, a large ticket, and needing to move — all at once. I’m already stretched thin, and I simply can’t afford to carry all of this on my own. That’s why I’m reaching out and asking for help.
I’m hoping to have double incision top surgery in January 2026. Even with insurance, my deductible will reset in the new year, and I’ll be responsible for a large out-of-pocket cost. On top of that, I’ll need to take 6–8 weeks off work unpaid to recover, which adds even more financial pressure.
This fundraiser will help cover:
Out-of-pocket surgery expenses
Two months of lost income during recovery
Post-op supplies and medication
Essential living costs like rent, food, and transportation
I live with chronic pain and illness daily, and this surgery will relieve a huge amount of that physical and emotional strain. It’s not just a transition-related procedure — it’s something that will improve every part of my life, including my mental health, comfort in my body, and ability to move through the world without constant distress.
I also feel a growing urgency to do this before access to trans healthcare is restricted even further. I can’t wait anymore. I need this, and I need help to get there.
If you’re able to contribute, even a small amount, it truly makes a difference. If you can’t donate right now, sharing this fundraiser with others means the world to me.
Thank you for reading, for supporting, and for standing with me in this vulnerable moment. Your help could change my life.
With gratitude,
Sage
