Running 100 miles for local special needs charity
Donation protected
During December I will be running 100 miles here, there & everywhere to raise money and awareness of the following;
Due to covid, Wirral Play Council Special Needs have been forced to close. I'm raising money for the AMAZING staff to continue their vital services to disabled children under a new charity name.
My 9yr old son Henry has severe autism and complex learning needs. He loves attending the sessions here. They provide me and other parents of children with various special needs much needed respite.
Henry's needs are very challenging and there aren't many people /places who are able to look after him. He's great but looking after him is hard work and I need all the help I can get. I NEED them to stay open!!
I will post my runs and fitbit screenshots to prove I'm actually running and not just sat in front of the telly eating chips. I will try to find interesting places to run and may even don an elf outfit nearer to Christmas.
Please follow my adventures on Instagram at @weirdrunningalex
I appreciate everyone's skint in December so I will do much more shameless begging for towards the end. Please also feel free to post an IOU on Insta and I will collect in Jan.

This is their story;
WIRRAL PLAY COUNCIL SPECIAL NEEDs has had to close due to Covid-19 we need to raise 15000 to pay off debts to stop the building being sold, so we can asset transfer the Building over to the new charity. Any left over funds will go towards the running costs of the new charity. The aim is to reopen, under a new name, in the same building, next year so staff can get back to helping the children and families who desperately need help and support.
Wirral Play Council Special Needs provide out of school activities for children aged 6-25 on the Wirral who have a range of complex needs. We provide respite to Parents and Families both during term time and throughout the school holidays.
We were formed in 1975 and our building is specially adapted to meet the needs of all the children that pass through our doors. We currently have an Art Room, Quiet Room, Main Hall and both indoor and outdoor sensory play spaces which are costly to maintain and repair but provide a lot of support to our children.
We are continually looking for new funding to help keep our club running and would appreciate any donations made to our Charity. Any funds raised will be used to keep our club running, fund activities and buy new resources.
