Beloved Village,
Our dear sister Nana Akosua Reed lost her matriarch, Ms. Sabrina Ann Kramer-Reed, on January 19, 2025. Loss is certainly never easy, and we'd like to extend a helping hand to Akosua and Malcolm Kwesi during this time. Funds will go to help cover outstanding costs, bills, etc., to support the family (i.e., things not covered by insurance, childcare, meals, running errands, etc.). There are several different ways you can support from this GoFundMe and the MealTrain/CareCalendar. Akosua and family truly appreciate each and every one of you and extend their deepest gratitude during this tough time. Here are words from the family:
In Loving Memory
Sabrina Ann Kramer-Reed
July 20, 1955 - January 19, 2025
It is with deep heartfelt sorrow that I post the news of the passing of our mother.
Sabrina Ann Kramer-Reed was born on July 20, 1955, in Chicago, IL, to Maurice and Shirley Kramer. She was the second oldest of seven children ("Butch" Kramer, Jerome Kramer, Crystal Kramer, Angela Kramer, Jeff Kramer, and Michelle Kramer). In her early adult life, Sabrina married Dr. Ronald Reed and moved to Nashville, TN, to support him as he completed dental school. Together, they had two daughters: Acacia Reed, born in 1977, and Genora Reed (Nana Twafohemma Okomfo Panyin Akosua Nwotwewaa), born in 1979, and one grandson, Malcolm Nana Kwesi Clarke, born in 2011.
After 14 years of marriage, Sabrina returned to Chicago, where she completed her bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Chicago State University. She then returned to Nashville, where she earned her Master’s degree in Special Education from Tennessee State University. Sabrina went on to have a fulfilling career as a special education teacher in both middle Tennessee and central Florida.
Sabrina passed away on January 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and love. She was known for her passion for romance novels and her love of soap operas. Above all, Sabrina cherished her daughters, Acacia and Genora, who were the center of her world and brought her immeasurable joy, purpose, and meaning throughout her life.
My sister and family greatly appreciate your prayers and support at this time. Life is precious and mysterious, and through it all, the glue that binds us is gratitude. Both Acacia and I, as well as our extended family, thank you during these difficult times.
