Supporting Diana through her Cancer
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, & supporters;
My name’s Jeni DeJesus & I am writing this with such a heavy heart because as a daughter, I never want to see the woman who put everyone else first, in pain or suffering. My mother, Diana Gonzalez, is known by SO MANY of you! I have crossed paths with so many people in my life and all the ones that mattered at one point or another, got the privilege to meet and know my mother. My mother was the woman who secretly bought you souvenirs on class field trips, the woman who let you stay over, even temporarily live with us when things were tough on you. This is the same woman who saved any and every wounded animal (some of you know how animal obsessed we are) & handed out money to help anyone she could without ever expecting anything in return. My mother, a mother of 4 and grandmother of 5, is currently battling SMALL CELL CARCINOMA. For those who don’t know, it’s a very aggressive cancer She has been in the hospital since Sunday night & was transported to Boston in an ambulance from Lawrence General. She is NEVER one to ask for anything, as she is a giver; but I ask all of you, to please donate if you’re able to. She’s currently out of work receiving treatment, including aggressive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, & radiation- she’s had multiple ambulance rides to and from hospitals, an excessive amount of testing, and more testing & treatment to come. Even with the best of insurance, the costs are unbelievable. Her husband & my dad, Adam, have been doing everything in our power to care for my mother and give her the best fighting chance, as are her doctors & medical team. NO ONE wants to lose their mother, especially one who is as involved with their family’s life as mine is, and we are doing everything we can to get through this very hard time in her life. Despite the complications she experienced and her condition’s diagnosis, she remains to stay positive and optimistic for us all. It breaks my heart to even be where we are, but we need all the support we can get, even if it’s a minimal donation or a message of support. If you know us personally, don’t hesitate to reach out. Life is unfair, & it’s crazy how the best of people are always targeted with the worst situations, so we could all use some support. My siblings and I are ensuring we reach out to those close to us and breaking the tough news is even harder, because we are all still in complete shock. To all our friends, family, & colleagues, please pray for my mother- light that candle, wear those rosary beads, and send us the best of wishes. I don’t ever want anyone to feel the way I do right now, and plan to spend all the time I can from now into the future, with her.
Thank you all,
Jeni DeJesus
