It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news of a tragic and sudden loss that has struck one of my best friends, Lynzie Smith, and her children.

Lynzie’s ex-husband and the father of her children, Ryan MacIsaac, passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of June 26th, leaving behind their two wonderful children, Brady (age 15) and Rylyn (age 11).

Lynzie, a single mom, has been the primary caregiver and provider for her kids. With Ryan's sudden passing, there will be no additional financial support for essentials such as clothing, sports, summer camps, childcare, and an education fund.

Ryan was a beloved member of the Halifax community, known for his contributions to the hospitality industry through businesses like The Battered Fish, Kai Brady's, and Buck Ugly's. Born and raised in Herring Cove, he was deeply connected to his community.

To help Lynzie support Brady and Rylyn through this incredibly difficult and heart-wrenching time, I am setting up this GoFundMe campaign for them. The funds raised will go directly towards covering the unexpected costs of supporting these sweet, active, and amazing kids, including counseling and activities that will be crucial for their well-being over the next difficult phase of their life.

Lynzie is a small business owner in Halifax, and the current economic downturn has already made things challenging. Any support from the community would mean the world to her and her children.
