Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

I'm reaching out to you today on behalf of my friend Ben. He's someone who's always been there for others with his kindness, generosity, and sense of humour brightening many lives. However, Ben has fallen on hard times. A few years ago, Ben received the devastating diagnosis of a rare form of anal cancer, a battle he has bravely fought ever since. Amidst the turmoil of battling cancer, he was also made redundant from his job, left him grappling with the double impact of serious illness and unemployment. The last couple of years have been a harrowing journey of excruciating surgeries, painful recoveries, and mounting medical bills.

Ben underwent a life-altering operation. The procedure left him with over 200 staples, horrific scarring, and a colostomy bag as a constant reminder of his ordeal. Just when he dared to hope for a semblance of normalcy, he faced yet another setback—another painful surgery and prolonged recovery.

The financial strain of medical expenses and loss of income has pushed Ben to the brink. Despite his best efforts, he finds himself on the precipice of homelessness, with debts looming ominously overhead. The government assistance he once relied on has dried up, and now he finds himself in a deeply concerning situation. Despite his resilience, he's confronting challenges that are truly pushing him to his limits.. He's fighting to regain stability and dignity, facing challenges he never expected.Ben is actively seeking remote work opportunities, but he's encountering difficulties focusing due to the pain and medication he's taking.

I can't sit by while Ben navigates these challenges alone. That's why I'm reaching out to you. Together, we can provide him with the support he needs—rent and bill paid, food on the table, and the essentials to keep moving forward.
