I’m Val, and this isn’t my first time using GFM for assistance; I became homeless in February of 2024, and you all helped me stay afloat despite living as trans in a public sense. I now have “home bases” around the country, and am much more of a stable state than I was before, despite still technically being a drifter. Thank you all for that.

I work in freelance video editing—the least lucrative line of work you can imagine—and with multiple bases of operation, I haven’t been able to save very much. It’s been a paycheck-to-paycheck situation for travel, essentials, and (thankfully only at times) food & rent. I have therefore needed to rely sporadically on that aforementioned goodwill, and will likely do so indefinitely, even as I find new personal methods of lightening the load.

Please don’t feel obligated to contribute; I have decent community and folks in my life that help out just fine on the day-to-day. This is, mostly, hopefully, for the long-term.
