***Update: Chip passed away peacefully and surrounded by family in the early hours of November 29th.***

As some of you may know, Mary's dad, Chip, has been sick, with a rapid decline this last month or so. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure earlier this year and just recently, AL amyloidosis. Mary has taken a lot of time off work to take care of their dad who lives in another state. Because of the sudden turn for the worse, Mary will be off work taking care of their dad until his time to go, and should be able to take time off to process and grieve appropriately, without the financial burden weighing on them.

Losing a parent is difficult beyond words, and Mary will be losing their second parent very soon. Please consider donating or sharing to make this transition easier for Mary and their brothers who are handling their dad's end of life care, funeral arrangements, and taking more time off of work to handle his affairs. We shouldn't have to choose between work/ paying bills and grieving the loss of someone we love.

Mary is a hair stylist who takes care of everyone who sits in their chair. When my parent passed away three winters ago, Mary had set up a plan for "bereavement cuts" at no cost, to treat me while I was deep in my grief. That's just one example of how kind and thoughtful Mary is. Mary is so special with a lot of love to give, even when life is throwing punches. I am so lucky to have Mary as one of my best friends, and I hope we can give back to someone who pours themselves into everyone they encounter.
