Hi, I’m Joe Hagen, founder and executive director of Off The Dock Chamber Festival. (https://offthedockchamber.com) Along with my talented team, I have created a unique classical music festival that showcases the talent and passion of emerging classical artists from across the United States and Canada.
We started this festival in 2022 with a simple vision: to create an intimate and immersive concert-going experience that connects emerging artists and classical music loving audiences in a meaningful way. We wanted to offer a platform for up-and-coming musicians and ensembles to share their artistry, creativity, and vision with a supportive and enthusiastic community. We also wanted to celebrate the diversity and richness of classical music, from baroque to contemporary, from solo to chamber, from traditional to experimental.
Since our first concert, Off The Dock has grown into a 1 week concert series featuring numerous talented and award winning ensembles and soloists from Eastman School of Music, Juilliard School of Music, Northwestern University Bienen School of Music, Maryland Opera Studio, Oberlin Conservatory, and the Berkeley School of Music. We will be hosting 7 different concerts with a variety of genres and styles this year in several venues across Skaneateles, NY (in the Fingerlakes Region of NY) this July 2023. We will also be collaborating with local organizations, schools, and businesses to bring our music to new audiences and spaces in coming seasons.
This year, a festival needs funding to bring talented musicians together. Live music events have suffered greatly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and so have the performing artists. Live music revenue has dropped by more than 50% due to the cancellation or postponement of concerts and festivals around the world. Despite having attended school or graduating directly into the peak of the pandemic, our artists and ensembles have been resilient in the face of these many challenges and continue to dedicate their lives to bringing beautiful music to the world. This mission, however, cannot be done without financial support.
That’s why we are launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise $6000 for our 2023 season. This amount will help us cover the costs of renting equipment and instruments, paying artists, hiring staff, marketing our events, and providing high-quality sound and video production of each concert. It will also allow us to continue offering low-cost tickets to our concerts, making classical music accessible and affordable for everyone.
By donating to this campaign, you will not only support our festival financially, but also emotionally and spiritually. You will become part of our Off The Dock family, a community of music lovers who share a common passion and vision.
Please help us make Off The Dock Chamber Festival a reality in 2023 and help these talented artists and ensembles kick off their careers. Every donation counts, no matter how big or small, we are incredibly grateful for your support. Together, we can keep classical music alive and vibrant while illuminating a new path for emerging artists to break into their careers.
Thank you for your generosity and support. We hope to see you at our concerts this summer!
