✦ More than 1000 Nepali migrants from eight districts are stuck in three different camps in Dharchula, India, across Mahakali river since March 30.   We are 10th-grade students from Budhanilkantha school and we want to help.

Four-year-old UddamPun Magar from Kailali was with his parents who were working in a talc stone quarry near Dharchula.  Following the start of lockdown on March 24, he walked with 58 of his villagers to the border hoping to cross into Nepal. Hundreds of farmers from Bajhang who had gone to Dharchula to work on a road project to earn a few extra bucks during off-season are also stuck, unable to reach home for planting.

The Indian administration is providing them with two basic meals a day and monitoring their health.  The small amount of money they had managed to get from their contractors has dwindled.  The support you provide will be used to cover their other basic needs and transportation costs to their homes when they are finally allowed into Nepal.

We would like to assure you that all funds will reach the fellow Nepalis stuck in Dharchula as one of our team members is from Darchula and has relatives both on the Nepal and India side. We will share the final report with all the contributors.

This may be a late start but we hope you understand and support us.

Thank you very much for helping in these difficult times.  Stay safe!✻
