I am Jeniva and I am organizing this fundraiser for my friend (Karlo) and his mom (Tita Lita/ Aunt Lita) who is currently residing in my home country, the Philippines.
Tita Lita was up for a post-op check-up for her recent eye surgery last May 8th. Everything was going well, until the time that she was on her way home and suffered an Acute Respiratory Failure and was quickly sent back to the hospital.
After the doctors conducted a round of tests, they also found out the she had a Ruptured Aneurysm causing an approximate 15cc of blood to spread to her brain. After a couple more tests were done, she was scheduled for a Craniotomy. It took a gruesome 5 hours for the procedure to be done, after that she was sent to the I.C.U. for recovery.
As of May 14, her doctors confirmed that her aneurysm has been closed and said that she is currently out of the woods. So far, she has been very responsive and stable. Her wounds from the operation are healing well, she is also slowly breathing on her own requiring less dependency on oxygen support. Although, they are still keeping her in the I.C.U. for closer monitoring.
Tita (Aunt) Lita Catimbang, who is currently 70-years old, is a lovely mama to his only son, Karlo (my highschool friend) and daughter-in-law, and a much more amazing grandma to a lovely 7 month old granddaughter. We are thankful for the successful operation and to all the amazing healthcare workers who have been taking good care of her.
It is also undeniable that this has been one of the most difficult time for the family. A part of which is trying to figure out how to settle the growing medical bills for on-going treatments and medications.
Your generous donations will be used to pay for her current running bill as it is already more than CAD25,000 (~ Php 1 Million Pesos) and continues to grow by day. We have been able to slowly pay off a portion of the bill (roughly around CAD5,000) but being a family with modest income, the mounting bills has been more than what we can afford. Karlo has also been trying to navigate his small family's and his mom's daily needs as he has to keep traveling from home to the hospital.
It is with a humble heart that we ask for your help.
Please consider contributing and sharing our story. Your generosity will not only help cover these overwhelming medical costs but also bring comfort and relief during this incredibly challenging time.
Every donation—no matter how big or small—will make a difference in her journey to recovery.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, kindness, and support.
Our sincerest appreciation and gratitude,
From Karlo & Family
