Hi, my name is Marlene and I'm fundraising for the Jon Theisen family! Why? Because the Theisen's have reached that point in these long, serious, life threatening illness battles where they lose everything, not just material, but hope and faith. I do not want to see that happen. I've known Jon personally for nearly 20 years as a fellow Rotarian, office mate, client and friend. I knew him before Michele and after, including Colin, Shelly and Carter. I know Jon's a fighter and worth doing whatever it takes to help him win this fight!
Jon was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) about three months ago which is a rare cancer of the blood and bone marrow. This cancer will eventually turn into Acute Myeloid Leukemia without treatment and in Jon’s case it could be sooner rather than later due to the severity of his MDS. He just had a bone marrow transplant and is also fighting pneumonia for which he had surgery this past week.
The Theisen's are an incredibly tight-knit family, as you can imagine this has hit everyone really hard, Michele, Jon's wife, their son, Colin and their two older children, Shelly and Carter, who have really stepped up to help with Colin and keeping things good on the home front. However, Jon has been at Stanford for nearly two-months and will remain there for at least another month. He does best when Michele is able to stay, but that means hotels, travel, meals, etc. Jon has an 18 month at best recovery ahead. Who knows what that looks like?!
The Theisen's have been amazing with their finances, but this has depleted their savings and will break them if we don't step up and help! Your donation will go into a separate account the Theisen's recently created specifically for this battle. Your generosity, prayers, anything you can do will not only be appreciated, I won't forget! Thank you and God bless you!
