Help Jackie Fight RARE Stage IV Mucosal Melanoma

My name is Jackie. I am 39 year old, a wife to Matthew, and the mother to sweet 7 year old Nathan. I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 mucosal melanoma, which is so rare less than 2% of melanoma cases are mucosal, and even more rare is the location mine showed up at. So we can use your help.  It all started in March of 2021 at a dental checkup, where a dark spot was spotted on my hard palette. By August of 2021, the spot had gotten larger and a lump appeared in the right lymph node of my neck. Thinking these are 2 different ailments, I was on 2 different paths. While different medical teams bounced the hard palette spot around as to who should take care it, it began to grow larger. By December 2021, it was impacting my speech and my bite. In the meantime, I was working with my doctor on my enlarged lymph node. In March of 2022, the lymph node was biopsied. And I got the word that everyone dreads: cancer. It came back as melanoma. This shocked me because I take great care of my skin and have no lesions. But then it got me thinking to the tumor growing in my mouth. In the beginning of April 2022, I started care with Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fl. During the first visit, I had the team stumped. But then I mentioned the tumor in my mouth, and the biopsied it immediately. The biopsy came back as stage 4 mucosal melanoma, a rare and aggressive form of melanoma - not caused by sun exposure. My heart broke. It is in 4 different spots in my bones as well. This wasn’t going to be an easy fight. At the end of April, I left work on disability and began treatments to win my battle against this disease. For my son, for my husband, and for myself. We have tried to stay financially afloat for as long as we can, but with a recent decrease in my benefits, and medical bills starting to come in, we need help.  Since the diagnosis, people have come out of the woodworks offering help and support. And while we were always appreciative of the offers, we hadn’t any need for any aid at the time. But now we do. Our goal is to supplement what we financially need to get through this on top.
