Fighting for Imani’s Education -- $5,000 in 10 days!

Any funds raised beyond the $5K will be reserved for Imani's fight -- if the advocacy costs are more than estimated or Imani needs additional educational and emotional support services.

We are Imani’s Parents and we are asking you to help us support our daughter Imani.

From her Mom: My name is LaVon Fortune and I am Imani’s mother. We need to raise $5,000 to support Imani. We are fighting the Broward County school district which has failed her. Imani is not where she needs to be educational wise. As a special ed student, Imani has a right to a free and appropriate education based on her needs. They are refusing to pay the $1,600 it cost us to get an outside independent evaluation for our child and want to take us to due process (basically suing us). We also need at least $3,000 to get an advocate team so we can help our child. 

From her Dad: My name is George McIntosh and I am Imani’s father. We need your help to support Imani. The school system is not doing right by Imani; her education and emotional well-being has been harmed. We must make sure Imani gets the education and other support she needs to have a better future. $5,000 supports us to pay for whatever independent education, psychological and advocacy support we need to go through due process and fight for Imani’s education and well-being.
