It’s true what they say. No one thinks they’ll be in this position until they are. I was let go from my role as assistant director of the LGBTQ Pride Center at NC State University following the release of undercover footage from an anti-DEI organization. Scrolling through social media and seeing articles, videos, and hate comments has produced emotions that I cannot begin to put into words.

If you know me, you know that asking for help has never been my strong suit. However, now is the moment for me to lean on my community in this time of crisis.
