Anita Moore, a 69 year old crossing guard for The City of Orange Township, was the victim of a devastating apartment fire which has left her displaced from her home in addition to losing all of her belongings. Anita is a dedicated employee of the city and a bright presence always looking out for the safety of children and families in our community. Her warm smile and caring nature have made a positive impact on everyone she meets each day.
On the morning of January 11, 2026, a devastating three-alarm fire broke out around 6:15 am at a multistory apartment building where Anita lives in East Orange. The fire quickly spread, injuring nearly forty people and displacing about 80 residents from 31 different families. Anita was one of those affected—she lost everything she owned in the fire, including her home and all her belongings. At 69 years old, Anita now faces the overwhelming challenge of starting over after this tragedy.
The funds raised will go directly toward helping her secure temporary housing, purchase clothing, cover essential expenses, and replace lost income while she is unable to work. Please consider making a donation to help Anita get back on her feet. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for showing Anita the same care and support she has given to our community.
