This year, for my 66th birthday, instead of gifts, I’m raising funds for Youth Rally , an organization I chair that that empowers teens facing unique challenges related to the bowel and bladder..diseases like Crohn's, which i have had since the age of 13, Ulcerative Colitis, Hirschsprung's disease, , Bladder and Cloacal Extrophy, Spina Bifida, and many more. Each year since 1986, I have volunteered as a counselor for the campers who join us from all over the world . This is a place for them to feel supported and mentored to deal with the many issues they face in life at home and in school. By supporting this cause, we can help young people connect with peers and role models who inspire independence and broaden their aspirations.

Every year I ask all my friends and colleagues to consider giving ,and this year, my goal is $100,000.00. Donations have already come in from Tim Loretan, ( $5000) , Pacira Biosciences ( $10,000), Michael Yang family endowment ( $2500) and The Paul J Hastings Endowment speech honoraria ($5000.00), which is WONDERFUL START..and amount large or small is appreciated, as running a summer camp for youth these days gets pretty expensive. Your donation goes to camper scholarships, fun and educational outings and sessions, and even pocket money for our campers to spend on our field trips and free time activities. We turn NO TEEN away and cover all expenses need e to attend if needed by our families. Our organization is 100 % volunteer, and our volunteer counselors and nurses give their time and resources generously .
