This is Soy. He’s only 1.5 years old, and we’ve been lucky enough to have him in our lives since September 2024.
From the moment we met him, Soy has been nothing but gentle, sweet, and full of personality. Everyone that has met him knows how much he means to us and just how great he is.
Shortly after adopting him, Soy was diagnosed with FIP. He began treatment for his FIP, and thankfully, his eyes and health improved significantly. We truly believed we were turning a corner.
Yesterday, 12/12, we rushed Soy to the emergency vet after he began struggling to breathe. After imaging and testing, the vets found a large amount of fluid in and around his lungs. Today, we had an ultrasound performed on his heart, and we learned that his heart is enlarged.
Soy is currently on 24-hour oxygen and cardiac medications as the medical team works to stabilize him. At this moment, his prognosis is less than ideal — but he is still fighting, and so are we.
The cost of emergency care, oxygen support, diagnostics, and ongoing treatment has added up very quickly. We are asking for $3,000 to help lessen the financial stress so we can focus entirely on giving Soy the best possible chance.
We know this is such a difficult time of year, and we completely understand if donating isn’t possible. If you’re able to share this fundraiser, it would mean the world to us and could help Soy reach more people who might be able to help.
Soy is so young. He has so much love left to give, and we’re not ready to give up on him. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, sharing, supporting, and keeping Soy in your thoughts. ❤️
