Support Rocky Bear in getting surgery for his broken jaw

Meet Rocky Bear. While driving home one evening, I saw a woman crossing the street dragging a small white dog behind her. I could not stop myself from turning my car around immediately and inquiring about the horrific situation. I flipped a U turn in the middle of the street and put my hazards on. I rolled the window down and asked if that was her dog and what was going on... She mentioned to me that she was trying to sell the dog, and so of course, I asked how much she wanted for him.

The entire time we were interacting, the dog was visibly in distress and kept trying to get away from her. He was in terrible condition, so dirty that it was hard to touch him and had obvious injuries.

I ended up giving this women $10 and taking little Rocky Bear into my arms and into the car with us. He was so relieved and honestly I believe God placed me in that moment at exactly the right time to save him.

I knew he was in bad shape, but it wasn't until we got him cleaned up that I noticed something wrong with his jaw... Fast forward to a few times walking him, and while outside in the heat with him panting and his mouth open - I saw how bad it was. His poor jaw was completely broken off. Which is why you see it hanging down in the photos :(

I have been praying every single day over him. I pray that we are provided for and that I am resourced enough to take the absolute best care of him (and our other rescues!)

Making this initial request is the first step in taking vulnerable action to receive what we need to care for him. I am his only advocate and will not stop until he gets the care he needs. And with help from beloved community members like YOU - we can do this!!

Any funds received through this fundraiser will go directly to his upcoming vet bills related to the procedure needed to fix his jaw & anything more will be used to provide for other animals in need.
