Supporting Sybi
Donation protected
Sybil ( Sybi ) is a 4 year old little girl from Great Bowden, Leicestershire . Sybi was born with an extremely rare cardiac condition called Timothy syndrome ( TS ) . Despite enduring many heart surgeries & 2 previous cardiac arrests , Sybi has managed to blow all statistics surrounding
her health & was looking forward to starting ‘ big school ‘ at her local mainstream primary, alongside her best friends in September 2024 .
Sadly in March this year , Sybi suffered a 3rd cardiac arrest & devastatingly, this has resulted in life changing brain injury. Sybi will now need life long, round the clock care.
Whilst Sybi continues to blow our minds with her incredible resilience, it has become very clear how challenging her life will be for herself & her family ( my sister , brother in law & nephew ) upon her return home .
To date many amazing friends & family have asked how they can donate to help support Dominie & Jez ( Sybil's parents ) whilst they continue to fight daily for Sybi during her lengthy stay at Leicester Royal Infirmary. Dominie & Jez have always asked for donations to charity, but now as one of Sybi’s biggest cheerleaders, I am taking it upon myself to start a fund for Sybi & her very special family as they try to navigate their new lives together .
Sybi is going to require a lot of specialist equipment & additional therapies for us to give her the best quality of life possible, her home will require a lot of adaption & ultimately time as a family will be altered dramatically for Wilf.
Some of the specialist equipment required costs a huge sum of money & so if anyone is still willing to help I’d be very grateful for any support .
examples of how any funds may be spent ;
- accessible ramps around the home
- towards a hydro bath - this helps ease the discomfort of dystonia ( involuntary muscle stiffness )
- towards mobility aids including specialist chairs - allowing her to take part in life outside of the home.
- towards sensory items which will help Sybi work her visual focus which is currently limited .
- some occasional extra support , allowing Wilf some time with his parents .
- specialist intensive therapies to help Sybi find new ways of communicating - she is showing us daily how desperate she is to communicate .
Whilst we can be guided by medics , I believe we should be guided by Sybi & those that know her best , her family & friends . Since March Sybi has been unable to walk & talk but I know she wants to & so with your help, I would love to raise as
much as we can for my littlest friend so that we can watch her continue to blow those statistics just as I know she’d want to .
Thank you x
