Support and love for Brent and Stephanie

On March 23rd Brent went into the hospital not feeling well. While he was there, Brent suffered a stroke. Little did we know, at the time, that he had endocarditis and was throwing clots through out his body, including to his brain. The trauma to his body did not stop there as 2 weeks later he had a brain bleed while the Doctors were trying to control his clotting. Brent has been fighting infections, and they have been working on this before they can provide the heart surgery to replace two heart valves that have been damaged.

Brent has a long recovery with relearning speech, rehab to recover basic skills, Physical therapy, occupational therapy, memory a few times a week. He will be having his heart surgery soon and we have hope that he will be out of the hospital by July.

Stephanie has been by his side, along with other close family members, even in the midst of her own health problems. Brent, Stephanie and the kids moved back here from Florida last year in search of medical help for her debilitating pain and answers that they were unable to find in the Florida hospitals. She too, has some of the worst days of pain that sometimes has her in bed for days. They were lucky to have a home to come to with Mel and they were slowly finding answers and moving into a new life back here in Vermont. But now, they have so many difficult hurtles to adjust to. They are seeking help with housing, so if anyone has the know how to help in this area or know of housing that they can afford, we would certainly love the help with working in the system. We are waiting for any help with disability from the state, but are finding that help is not readily accessible at this time. Stephanie is unable to work to provide any type of help and they need to be in a home, getting some assistance, to bring Brent home from rehabilitation, which we really have no idea what that looks like.

We are praying for our family and asking for support. They have many needs financially but more so, getting into a space to live. This young family is not able to carry the burden that they have been handed, but many hands make for a simpler solution. Can you help? Even the smallest amount can bring promise for a better future.

Please bring any help in walking us in the right direction for help from the state, as it is all pretty daunting.
