Support Adeline’s Fight Against 2nd Lung Cancer

Hi! My name is Adeline DeJulia, 70 years old. I have been battling lung cancer since Nov. 2024. I had radiation of 20 treatments Monday through Friday in Dec. 2024 through Jan. 2025. My radiologist thought he had gotten all the cancer cells. After my final CT scan, it showed that the cancer came back or all of it wasn’t gone in the first place. So I went to another oncologist. I had to have a port put in so it’s easier when the nurses want to access it when they had to draw blood Or give infusions. Next, I had infusions of Keytruda immunotherapy. It was not shrinking my cancer cells. This doctor referred me to someone else. Off I went to an oncologist in Pittsburgh. Some people talk about being tired after having Keytruda. Tired isn’t the word for me; it’s exhaustion. Some people can’t understand why I’m so tired; they don’t know what exhaustion is. It’s a side effect of the meds. Try having these meds in your system. Even though I’m retired, I still can’t keep my house halfway clean; even getting dressed sometimes is a chore. I usually need someone to help me somewhat. Part of that problem is that I have chronic back pain. I usually get fast food or eat frozen processed food because I’m too tired to cook.

I could really use some monetary donations to help pay for my cancer treatments and care. I just paid a $12,000 invoice from my last cancer treatments. Yes, I have hospitalization, but that only covers 80%. Here’s an example: When there’s an invoice that says total billed of $12,000, the insurance pays 80%, and I pay the rest out of pocket, which is $2,400. I could use monetary donations to help pay towards the hospitalization invoices. Possibly, if any is left, I would I to buy a 3-4 wheel scooter so I can get around easier. Even a cheap one, $500, from Walmart.com. Then I’d need a ramp to cover a 4 step area. I do need a local person to clean my floors and bathroom.

recently I  had a CT Brain scan and a mapping CT scan, Pet Scan & a MRI done.  All this before I start my chemotherapy meds Mon. March 23.  The following week I should start my radiation, yes along with the chemo. Here again. Last week I  received another invoice from UPMC for 4,000. that I owe, from Jan & Feb 2026.
Thank you everyone for reading about my predicament. Every penny counts,
May God Bless.
