My name is Guilherme Magalhães Costa, I am 12 years old and I sail in the Optimist class.

Sailing at a competitive level requires much more than training and motivation. Most of the important Optimist regattas take place far from Portugal, which means long trips, transporting boats and equipment, accommodation, and many days away from school and family. All of this comes with high costs.

So far, this financial effort has been carried only by my close family. They do it because they believe in me, but it is not fair for them, or for my brother, to keep carrying this responsibility alone. That is why I decided to create this GoFundMe and ask for help from my community, friends, and everyone who would like to support my dream.

The support raised will be used to renew essential equipment, keep my boat competitive, and help cover travel and regatta costs where I can train, learn, and improve my results. Training and racing at good events are essential to keep progressing and staying competitive.
