Vega Family Still Suffering from Major CarAccident

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Gabriel Vega. On 09/29/23 my wife Lizzie and I were in a very severe car accident. Someone blew their red light texting and speeding and T-Boned us while I was making a left turn. Lizzie has had to go through so much. 7 Broken Ribs and a fractured pelvis on both side(and after reading Dr’s notes a handful of other broken bones - an additional 2 rib fractures and broken bone right above her tailbone). Most severely, A spinal fusion surgery the day after the crash to stabilize her C1 - C6 in her neck. As well as having to get a tracheotomy and on a ventilator to get her respiratory function back. She’s come a long way but she still suffers from numbness, major nerve damage and limited mobility.
First and foremost, it is necessary that we stop making monthly payments for the high-back wheelchair we are currently renting and purchase one outright. We need to purchase one that is a high-back and can recline being that a regular transport chair causes Lizzie a lot of pain as it is a fixed positioned chair.
We have already paid more in rental fees than the cost of buying the wheelchair, but circumstances previously prevented us from doing so.
Our goal is to eventually acquire a power wheelchair for Lizzie, which will significantly enhance her independence and allow her to navigate longer outings without the need for assistance. While Lizzie can use her rollator for short distances, she aspires to travel greater distances autonomously.
As the new year approaches, our out-of-pocket expenses will reset. Lizzie has numerous appointments with various specialists, each visit costing $40 out-of-pocket. She needs to see at least three specialists monthly, and sometimes multiple doctors each week. Additionally, she requires several prescriptions and regular bloodwork, adding to our financial burden. Her out-of-pocket maximum is $3,000, after which all expenses are covered by insurance. This amount is substantial for us and places a significant financial strain on our household. Lizzie also already had multiple chronic illnesses that she was dealing with before the accident that still require continuous treatment.
Furthermore, there are essential home improvements needed to make our living environment more accessible and comfortable for Lizzie.
