Hello,

My name is Katricia. I’m a staff member at a small nonprofit special-education school in San Jose, CA. Due to policy, I’m unable to share the school’s name. I am creating this personal, independent fundraiser out of care for our students. This is not an official school fundraiser, and it isn’t sponsored or endorsed by the school. It’s simply something I’m choosing to do because I see, every day, how much our kids deserve more than what their circumstances often allow.

Because this is a Non-Public School (NPS), we do not receive public district funding; we rely solely on student attendance. To keep this program strong and successful, we are striving to create an environment where students feel excited, welcomed, and motivated to come to school each day. Your support helps us enrich their learning, build essential skills, and create meaningful experiences they may not otherwise have access to.

Many of our students come from situations where resources are limited, opportunities are scarce, and consistent support hasn’t always been a given. Despite that, they show up with resilience, humor, curiosity, and so much heart. When they’re offered activities that let them be creative, work together, or practice social-emotional skills, you can see the difference immediately. Suddenly, they’re engaged, proud, and genuinely excited to be part of something.

With additional funds, we can bring in more hands-on projects, team-building activities, creative workshops, and special experiences that they might not get anywhere else. These kinds of moments help them feel confident, connected, and valued.

Where Your Contribution Will Go:

1. Adopt-a-Pet

Students adopt a plush animal and participate in guided activities that build compassion, responsibility, empathy, social-emotional skills, pride, and confidence.

2. Social Challenges

Students complete small, positive tasks—like making a card, helping a peer, or writing an appreciation note. Each activity promotes kindness, communication, teamwork, and prosocial behavior, with small rewards to reinforce their efforts.

3. Spirit Week & Competitions

Students take part in student-vs-staff games, classroom competitions in arts and sports, and themed spirit activities. These experiences foster teamwork, creativity, confidence, sportsmanship, and a sense of community.

4. School Decorations

Funds will help create welcoming and vibrant spaces throughout the school, helping students and families feel valued, included, and excited to be part of our community.
