Support Sara Lee's Discipleship School & Outreach!

Hello everyone! My name is Sara Lee and I hope this message finds you well :). Thank you for taking the time to read this as I transition from my 10+ years of community work on Oahu to going on a short-term mission and Discipleship Training School (DTS) with an organization called, YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Oregon and in a different country.

It has been a privilege to serve in my hometown, Kalihi & the community all throughout the island of Oahu. Reaching and connecting youth, young mothers and families to available and supportive community resources, non profit organizations & church services. While working hard through the pandemic to encourage students, pray & support families in their time of grief, deliver nutritious food & basic needs with an amazing outreach team for work, while also intergrading the gifts of singing and dancing the Lord has given me to bring joy in many different spaces. What a journey it has been! With that being said, it’s been an honor to love and serve my community, family & loved ones. It’s a time of transition

 

My YWAM DTS will be from September 2022 - to February 2023.

 

This is important to me because I feel that the Lord is leading me in this direction to continue to learn, rest, refuel and continue to receive and extend Godʻs love to those around me. I feel that this is an important time in my life to further deepen the relationship I have with Jesus as he takes me on a new adventure :). I am also looking forward to this new experience and bringing what Iʻve learned in my DTS time back to Hawaii.

 

There are two parts of YWAM which includes

1) The Lecture Phase - Located on campus in Salem, Oregon

(worship and prayer, classroom learning, reflective

assignments, small group processing, one on one

mentorship, community service, exploring Oregon with

friends, team building, Bible study, Connecting with God)

 

2) Outreach Phase - in a different country

where we will be living and working alongside locals and

their families that YWAM has established great

relationships with. (Cultural Orientation, relationship based

evangelism, prayer, service, teaching, childrenʻs ministry

travel, etc.)

 

The DTS costs $5,200 plus travel expenses.

Travel expenses usually range from $1,500-$2,500. This pricing includes all lodging, meals, school materials, and travel for the entire 6-month program. 

 

I will also be working hard to reach this goal. Any support is welcome whether it be your powerful prayers, financial support and your encouragement.
